Omaha Zoo

Well, school starts this Thursday so I decided to take the boys to the zoo. The zoo has so much to see that you can't do it in one day. The weather also makes it hard to walk around for more then 2 hours. We have met a fun family that has 5 boys. Jet is the same age as Noah. Wynn is 6 turning 7. Rook and Cannon are twins that are the same age as Lincoln and Crew is 9 weeks old. The mom Teri, is a lot of fun. We actually knew them in Moscow but don't really remember them very well. We have been doing a lot with them lately and today they were at the zoo with us. Here are all the boys!

Today we saw the gorillas. There were three huge gorillas out today. You can get really close to them. Here is one sitting right at the window.

At the zoo they have these really cool domes that the kids can look through or sit in and kind of be a part of the exhibit. If you look really close you can see Cameron's head between the legs of the gorilla. There are two domes behind the gorilla that you can look through and the gorillas would walk right over them.

Here is Lincoln standing in one of the domes. He was kind of scared of it at first. I don't think that he trusted the glass.

While walking through the monkey exhibit we noticed this little Lemar stuck inside of the light. We got to watch a real animal rescue! The little thing looked really scared once the zoo worker got it out.

This tiger just had two baby cubs at the end of July. She also only has three legs. Once she noticed 9 boys converging on her space, she got really nervous and stood up on her hind legs and watched us. Once she realized that we couldn't get to her she went back to her cubs. We couldn't really see the cubs because they were behind the log.

This is a picture of Noah, Cannon, Rook, Lincoln and Dallin looking at the bears. It took awhile to tell the twins apart, but Cannon is bigger then Rook.

Dallin showing us his pop-pop or Lollipop. He loves pop-pops.
The zoo also has a small aquarium. Dallin likes to see the penguins. At the aquarium you walk through a tunnel that is glass. The sharks and other fish swim right over the top of you. The boys are trying to find Nemo.

This is a picture of the glass tunnel with the sharks swimming over us.
And lastly, on display, these weird animals they call construction works. They are building a butterfly house. That one on top even needs to be tied down!

Fun! I like how they tried to mke you feel like you are with the animals--with the domes & the water over your head.

Are you excited to get the boys back in school? :)

I am glad you got to go back to the zoo. I really hated not getting to go thru the whole thing when we visited in June.

And by the way pop-pops cause big nasty cav-cavs (or cavities). Dental school must not be breaking Aaron. I hope those pop-pops are sugar free.
